Melrick, a 13-year-old boy, spends his summer vacation with his grandmother Nicole in Cayenne, Guyana. His presence and his desire to learn how to play the drum brings back the specter of Lucas, Nicole's son, also a drummer, who died under tragic circumstances 11 years earlier. Faced with the grief that haunts his family and Lucas's best friend's desire for revenge, Melrick seeks his own path to forgiveness.
 
Melrick, un adolescent de 13 ans, passe ses vacances d'été chez sa grand-mère Nicole, à Cayenne, en Guyane. Sa présence et son désir d'apprendre à jouer du tambour fait resurgir le spectre de Lucas, le fils de Nicole, lui aussi tambouyé, mort dans des conditions tragiques 11 ans plus tôt. Confronté au deuil qui hante sa famille et au désir de vengeance du meilleur ami de Lucas, Melrick cherche sa propre voie vers le pardon.
